Preschool & Kindergarten Registration- April 18th and 19th image Preschool & Kindergarten Registration- April 18th and 19th

Registration for preschool and kindergarten students will be held at Knollwood School.

We will be holding a mass registration on April 18th and 19th from 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm both days and at 6pm-8pm on the 18h only.  Please remember, your child must be age 5 by August 1st to enroll in Kindergarten.  If you are Open Enrolling your child, you must apply for Open Enrollment at the Board Office and be approved before you can register your child. Make sure you call 440-949-4234 to make an appointment to register after you have been approved and bring your open enrollment approval letter when you register.

We are excited to announce all-day kindergarten will be open to all students. All-day kindergarten has been in such high demand in the past that we have had to deny entrance for some students. Therefore, we have added these extra seats to accommodate our children and parents. Most importantly, it gives our children twice the exposure to reading, language arts, and math skills which will help them for their lifetime. We hope that you will take advantage of this added opportunity.

Cost will continue to be $2,000.00 and is payable monthly with a $200 deposit due at registration. Fee waivers are available for families who qualify.

Knollwood Elementary will also be offering half day preschool and half day kindergarten. While preschool school and full day kindergarten is tuition based. Half day kindergarten is tuition free, however there will be a one time school fee for workbooks, supplies, etc. payable in the fall.

On the day of registration, you will need to bring your child's birth certificate, shot records, a signed Lease Agreement, Rental Agreement, Mortgage Statement or Purchase Agreement, (choose one), 2 proofs of residency, (utility bills sent to your home with your name and address on it), and custody papers if they apply. You will also need to bring your first payment if you're signing up for preschool on the day of registration.

Preschool is $1500.00 for the year. First payment of $150.00 is due at registration. Second payment will be due September 1st with the rest of the payments due on the 1st of every month. May will be the last payment. There is no school for preschool students on Wednesdays.

The hours for the all-day Kindergarten is 8:20am - 3:20pm. Half-day Pre-School and Kindergarten classes are 8:20am - 11:20am & 12:20pm - 3:20pm.

If you have any questions, you please call Mrs. Wesebaum @ 440-949-4234.

"Shine your Smile Day” is coming

Knollwood Elementary School is hosting Smile Programs...the mobile dentists on

April 25, 2018

We have invited the Smile Programs…the mobile dentists to coordinate on-site dental care at our school because we know how important taking care of your children’s teeth is to keeping them healthy. Best of all, your child can receive dental care at NO COST TO YOU, as Medicaid, CHIP and most other insurances cover 100% of prevention treatment.

Signing up your children to see the mobile dental team is an easy & convenient way for them to get necessary dental care. If you want your child to see the dentist on “Shine Your Smile Day,” all you have to do is fill out the dental permission slip and return it to the school.

Procedures to Volunteer at Your Child's School image Procedures to Volunteer at Your Child's School

We value your help and support in our schools. In today’s climate we’re sure you understand the need to ensure the safety of our students. Before volunteering we ask that you complete the following steps:

1. Come into the school office and let them know you wish to become a school volunteer. The office will notify the secretary at the Board Office that you will be coming over to get the paperwork needed.

2. At this time you can go to the Board Office to pick up an official records check

form. (You need to use this form, no other form will be accepted.)

3. Then make an appointment for your background check, both a FBI/BCI.

4 . Once the background check is received, the building Administrator will send a recommendation to Mr. Cook to have the volunteer names placed on the Board Agenda to be approved.

5. Once you are Board approved, you will be able to begin to volunteer.

Thank you for being a very important part of our schools. The students and staff appreciate all that our volunteers do for us.

Please know the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City School District pays for all of our volunteer background checks.

Is your child not feeling 100% but you're not sure if you should keep them home or not? Please see THIS LINK for more information.
Preschool Supplies
All you need to buy for preschool is a book bag that can hold regular size folders. You will pay a fee of $20.00 and that will cover school supplies. Each child will need to bring their own snack daily.
Parent Visitation at Knollwood and Forestlawn
There is a new procedure for parents visiting during the school day that will be implemented at Knollwood and Forestlawn this year. When a parent wants to visit their child's classroom during the day, the parent will have to either  call or email the teacher to set up an appointment. Frequent distractions interrupt the educational process of learning for all of the students and is often hard to get all the students back on the learning track. Thank you for helping us keep the learning environment a productive one.
Welcome Back! I am looking forward to an outstanding year. Please keep in mind as the school year begins, there will be procedures to the entry and dismissal at Knollwood. Breakfast begins at 8:20. The entry bell for all students is at 8:20. If your child is a car rider, please drop your child off at the back doors to enter into school.
