Dealing with Preschool Behavior in Public
Embarrassed by your kids' behavior in public? Are there times when you don't know what to do? Do you sometimes just give in to what they are whining about because it's the easiest approach? How should you appropriately discipline in public without causing a scene? Christine Jurik, MA, BCBA, COBA, of Behavior Consulting Services, LLC, will discuss ways to deal with preschooler behavior when running errands, attending parties and participating in community functions. Learn new behavioral strategies to feel more confident taking your preschoolers and kindergarteners with you in the community! Tuesday, January 17, 7:00 pm, Westlake Porter Public Library, 27333 Center Ridge Rd., Porter Room For more information on trainings available for parents, please see the attached links, or contact our school social worker Andrew Smith at 440-949-4213 or via email at asmith@sheffieldschools.org

If we have a two hour delay, Kindergarten AM classes and Preschool AM classes only will be cancelled.  NO BREAKFAST ON TWO HOUR DELAY DAYS.
COLD WEATHER ALERT
Cold weather is upon us. All children will be going outside every day as long as the temperature is 20 degrees or above or it is raining/snowing. Please remember to send hats and gloves to school with your child for when they have recess. A child will not be allowed to stay in from recess unless the office has a Doctor's note on file. Thank you for your continued support!

Parent Visitation at Knollwood and Forestlawn
There is a new procedure for parents visiting during the school day that will be implemented at Knollwood and Forestlawn this year. When a parent wants to visit their child's classroom during the day, the parent will have to either  call or email the teacher to set up an appointment. Frequent distractions interrupt the educational process of learning for all of the students and is often hard to get all the students back on the learning track. Thank you for helping us keep the learning environment a productive one.
ID TAGS

The entry bell for all other students is at 8:20. If your child is a car rider, please drop your child off at the back doors to enter into school.
