band Brookside Middle School Band Concert

The Spring Band Concert will be held on Thur., May 24th. in the Nest at 7pm.

Come join the fun!  On Friday May 25, 2018 for the Last Chance Dance 7-9pm. in the Nest.
All dances have the following rules:
 -No kissing or inappropriate touching.
 -No one is permitted to be at their locker.
 -All regular school rules apply.
 -Dances are for current BMS students ONLY.
-Students must be picked up as soon as the dance is over.
-To be eligble to attend the dances, student must be present in school the same day.
-Suspension from school or other disciplinary violations may result in dance denial.
-When student arrives for the dance they are expected to stay for the duration of the dance unless parents and administration have made prior arrangements, or if an emergency arises then student must be picked up by parent appointed adult.
-Transportation to and from the dance are the responsibilty of the student and parent. 

Any infractions at the dance will have consequences.

nurse In Coming 7th. grade Students and Parents

"Attention parents of In Coming 7th grade students!" The Lorain County Public Health Department reminds you that before a student can enter the 7thgrade they must receive one dose of the Tdap Vaccine and one dose of the Meningitis Vaccine. See your medical provider or make an appointment with Lorain County Public Health Department to get the vaccines your student needs. Call 440-284-3206 for an appointment. 

Be sure you bring the shot records in for Nurse Fly. Proof of the Vaccines are due by the 14th. day of school (Sept. 12, 2018).

jvs logo ExCEL Career Camp at the JVS
7th and 8th grade students are invited to attend the ExCEL Summer Career Camp at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin Ohio on Saturday, June 2, 2018 or on Saturday, June 9, 2018 (transportation will be provided on this day starting at Brookside High School).  This camp is designed to give students from our associate school districts that will be entering the 8th or 9th grades, hands-on experience in various career tech program labs to help them make knowledgeable career decisions.  For more information, please call 440-774-1051 ext. 22293 or visit our website,

When your child is absent from school, the policy for homework is stated on page 7 of the handbook:
Absentee Homework
If a student has been absent for three (3) days, parents may call the school in order to request homework or assignments.  Homework will be available in the Office 24 hours after the call.  If absent less than three (3) days, assignments should be obtained by contacting the office or by visiting individual teacher websites (link on the left side of this web page).

 Breakfast Cost will be $1.75. Lunch Cost will be $3.00.
 Please remember that students are only allowed to borrow money for two lunches. You can put money on your student's lunch account by setting up an individual account through our PayForIt.net program. Please visit the school website for the link to PayForIt. Using PayForIt will allow you to make payments to student fees, monitor your child's cafeteria spending and easily add money to their account via a credit or debit card.

BMS/BHS Arrival and Dismissal Routine

Arrival: Buses will drop students off at the front of the building. Parents who drive their student to school are to be dropped off at the back event entrance which is located at the Southeast area of the High School. You will turn into the drive between the High school and Intermediate school, turn right in front of the staff parking lot to drop off at the doors and continue around the staff lot to exit. No Exiting behind the Intermediate School. Dismissal: Buses will pick up students in the front of the building. Parents will pick up students from the back event entrance following the same procedure as arrivals. Again Please DO NOT exit behind the Intermediate building. If you need to come inside for any reason please park in the visitor parking spots in the front of the building.

Please remember to keep your phone numbers, addresses, emergency contact information and medical forms updated with the school. Please call the office at (440) 949-4228 or (440) 949-4227 if you need a new form sent home.

Check your student's progress frequently using the POWERSCHOOL button located in the upper left of the website. Parents can create an account to access your student's grades, attendance and other features. You may also pay for your child's school fees and add money to your child's cafeteria account using the PAYFORIT.NET button located in the upper right corner. Student ID's and passwords are sent home at the beginning of the school year. Any questions please call the main office at (440) 949-4228.
