BHS: Class of 2024

College Now: Brookside offers a representative from College Now to help with college and career planning. She can help with applying for colleges, completing the FAFSA, finding and applying for scholarships, creating pathways for students who are interested in getting into a trade and so much more! This is a wonderful service for all of our students!! Please contact the main office or email Jamie Hamilton at jvegahamilton@collegenowgc.org to make an appointment. 

Scholarships: Please continue to check the Class of 2024 Google Classroom for the most up-to-date scholarship information!! Deadlines are coming up quickly, so don't wait!! 

School and Lunch Fees: Please keep in mind that all school and lunch fees must be paid in full in order for your student to participate in activities at school. This includes (but is not limited to): field trips, field day and prom. Students with fee balances will be permitted to participate in graduation, but will not receive their diploma or official transcripts until their fees are paid. 

Graduation Tickets: Seniors participating in graduation will receive 2 reserved tickets (for parents) and 5 general admission tickets. Tickets will be distributed on May 22, 2024 during FLEX (10:48-11:26) in the library/media center. If you are unable to pick up your tickets during that time, please stop by the main office between the hours of 7:30am-3:30pm AFTER the scheduled ticket distribution time. Additional tickets can be requested on a first come, first served basis by contacting Mrs. McNichols. 

Important Dates: 

May 18: Prom

May 20: Field Day

May 21: Senior Day at LCCC - Register through Class of 2024 google classroom

May 22: Senior Car Parade @ 6:30 

May 29: Senior Final Exams periods 2, 4, 5 and 6   

May 30: Senior Final Exams periods 1, 3, 5, and 7

May 31: Commencement Practice for Seniors. Attendance is MANDATORY in order to participate in graduation. Everyone must meet in the BHS gym @ 8:15am. Students WILL NOT be permitted to drive themselves to the Palace for rehearsal. Graduates should bring their cap and gown to graduation practice to wear them to the clap out. 

May 31: Senior Clapout - After graduation, practice buses will stop by each of the elementary buildings. Seniors will wear their caps and gowns and parade through the building cheered on by elementary students and their former teachers. 

May 31: Senior Cookout will follow graduation practice and clapout (approx 12:30). Seniors, bring chairs or blankets for seating. 

June 2: Commencement @ 2:00 (Lorain Palace Theater) - Graduates should arrive no later than 12:50. Doors open at 1:00 and everyone should be seated no later than 1:45. 

Graduation Dress Code: Dress or skirt & blouse, dress pants, collard shirt, ties and dress shoes. NO jeans, cut-offs, flip flops, tennis shoes or casual apparel. If you are inappropriately dressed, you will NOT participate in graduation. Caps should not be altered/decorated.
