The science teachers at William Barr are taking their students on a trip to Veggie U.! This program shows students how vegetables are grown. They begin with the various types of soil that could be used. Then they take the students through each of the steps needed to produce healthy vegetables. They even create a worm farm! The project concludes with the students having the opportunity to taste the vegetables they have grown.

Food Drive at Barr Elementary School
Sheffield Lake Community Civic Council collected canned and dry food goods for the residents of Sheffield/Sheffield Lake who are in need of food this Holiday Season.   Students at Barr School brought in  422 cans/boxes!  PTO Vice President Barb Parker had promised that the classroom that turned in the most would win a pizza party.  That classroom turned out to be Mr. Kinser's class with 124 cans/boxes turned in!  Therefore they won the pizza party.  The students decided though that in the spirit of Christmas they would forfeit their pizza party and chose instead to donate that money to the Civic Center!  PTO is matching their donation too!  One hundred dollars will be donated to help the needy.
