Culture Awarenes & Experiences
On Saturday, January 24, 2009, a series of monthly field trips will be offered to SMS students.  These field trips are a part of a cultural awareness program being implemented at SMS.
The program “Culture Club” is an experimental after-school activity program designed to give students in Sheffield & Sheffield Lake exposure to new and innovative experiences.

What's happening in science?
In 7th grade physical science we are looking at physical and chemical changes.  Much of the investigation revolves around states of matter and how substances interact. 
Laboratories allow students to observe physical & chemical changes, types of reactions, energy in reactions, and rate of reaction.  Students also explore the law of conservation of mass by using the periodic table and learning how to balance chemical equations to prove this law.

Supplies / Covered text
The following supplies will be needed each and every day:
Composition notebook (exclusively for science)
Pencil
Pen
Two-pocket folder
 
Textbooks should be covered at all times.
 
Supplies are available at the Dollar Store...there is no need for expensive supplies.
