| The PD Purses Innovative Technology Fund | |

PD Purses believed in the power of technology in education and is one of the driving forces behind the success we have enjoyed in technology in our district. His devotion to improving the quality of education of our Special Education students and his enthusiasm for new and innovative ways of reaching all students in the district has benefited many children over the years. In recognition of his immense contributions to the students and staff of the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools, his friends and colleagues have established the PD Purses Innovative Technology Fund. This fund will serve as a yearly grant for which SSLCS teachers can apply. The award is to promote utilizing technology in a meaningful way to enrich the educational experience of our students. The primary focus will be on ‘innovative” technology that utilizes new technology or existing technology that is used in a new and exciting way. PD was always trying to find new ways to provide teachers with the proper tools to reach students that traditional teaching tools and methods were unable to accomplish. This fund will continue his work and grant recipients will continue to benefit from his creative vision and innovative philosophy of education.
